After significant research into the subject, I was baffled. How did AI become so instrumental in fields such as visual recognition, audio processing and problems for which the human mind is built, while only serving as the researcher’s sidekick in handling data intensive problems like investment management? It seemed odd that data-heavy industries remained unchanged by AI. Three years later I can understand why the financial market is uniquely difficult to tackle with artificial intelligence.

At Finityx, we have taken on the most difficult problems. The problems that seemed so impossible that many companies decided not to even attempt solving them. We believed that if we solve the most difficult problems first, we could solve the simpler ones later.

We started by asking ourselves a question:

how can we deploy a state of the art AI deep learning model that mimics, automates and improves the capabilities of top quant researchers and of successful hedge funds and transforms the investment industry from its core?

This is a simple question with a very complex solution. When we delved into the question and analyzed the problems we realized that the challenge is not only to develop the proprietary decision-making algorithm, but much larger. There were four different foundational problems that we needed to consider:

1. The economy is a level 2 chaotic system with high dimensional non-stationary temporal data.   

2. Financial data is inaccurate even if you buy it from the world’s largest providers.

3. The automation of the entire process is extremely complex and is built from a chain of interconnected technological components.

4. The financial market requires accuracy and has little room for error.

Thus, we realized the problems were more complex than we originally thought. We had a small team and limited resources. Many would have chosen to step back at this stage. Not us. We see complexity as an opportunity. We decided to show the world how to solve the unthinkable with minimum resources. We believed we could change one of the largest industries from its core by being creative.

During the past 3 years, we have worked around the clock to break down the aforementioned problems into smaller components, which could be tackled. We developed a smart cloud based infrastructure for each problem, working together to solve them in perfect synergy. Our main advantages lie in our free-market platform which is our “autonomous quant team”, a system that uses all of our technological components to create high alpha-generating strategies without human interference. This system is a generic prediction system that has the potential to change not only the financial market but many other data-intensive industries.
